Ephessus
Process

Four phases. The dates are in the contract.

Every project runs the same way, from the first half day on site to the system in production with a monthly fee. The client sees every stage and closes every milestone.

01

Fieldwork

½day on site, 3 to 5 days of analysis

The person who decides and, separately, the people who operate. Three tests run in front of the owner.

What comes outEvery bottleneck ordered by monthly cost, a plan in stages with price ranges, one or two fixes applied on the spot.
02

Design

1scope, approved in stages

Architecture of the solution and scope divided into stages. The client approves what goes in now and what waits.

What comes outThe contract, with scope, price and both delivery dates. The list of what waits usually becomes the next contract.
03

Build

30days to a working version, 90 to the final one

Delivered by milestone, inside the client's operation, with real data from the first version.

What comes outA milestone closes only when the person who uses it accepts it. The last one closes the build.
04

Operation

in production, evolving, monthly fee

The system in production, monitored, evolving with the business. The longest phase.

What comes outContinuous evolution on the same record, with every change deployed before it is reported as done.
Principles

Seven, all true today.

01

We measure before we quote.

Scope, price and schedule come out of the Fieldwork. Nothing is quoted before it.

02

One client at a time.

The whole problem solved for one company, instead of most of the problem solved for many.

03

Integration before replacement.

What the team already runs stays until something better is running beside it.

04

Thirty days to a working version.

Ninety to the final one. Both dates are in the contract.

05

No milestone closes without your acceptance.

The milestone is open until the person who uses it says it works.

06

Nothing is reported as done until it runs in production.

There is no status meeting for work that is not deployed.

07

The report is yours.

The Fieldwork document belongs to the company that paid for it.

Start with the Fieldwork.

Half a day inside the operation. Scope, price and schedule come out of it.
